LICHFIELD'S MP has welcomed a meeting between the Prime Minister and survivors of sexual abuse by Mohamed Al-Fayed.
The event was chaired by Lady Duckworth from the Survivors Trust and convened by the All‑Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Survivors of Mohamed Al Fayed and Harrods.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer met with the group to hear their first-hand experiences of the former Harrods owner.
Lichfield MP Dave Robertson, who co‑chairs the APPG, said:
"The testimony of survivors is always difficult to hear, but it is important that there is a space for these stories to be heard and for senior politicians to hear them.
"The Prime Minister is focused on delivering meaningful resolution for survivors and committed the Government to act and deliver the justice that survivors have been denied for far too long.
"This meeting marks an important step for securing that justice."
