Lichfield pool to play host to 2016 Swimathon fundraiser for Sport Relief

People are being given the chance to make a splash for Sport Relief in Lichfield.

The city’s Friary Grange Leisure Centre will host the Swimathon challenge on March 19 and 20.

People can entert as a team or individually to take on a range of distances in the pool.

Councillor Andy Smith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for leisure, said: “Entering Swimathon is a fantastic way to get motivated to train for an event and to raise money for Sports Relief.”

The Swimathon will take place in Lichfield between 6pm and 9pm on March 19 and between 8am and 11am on March 20. Entry costs £12 for an adult, £9 concession, and £26 for a team or £19.50 for a concession team. Visit www.swimathon.org to register and find out more about sponsorship ideas.
