INSPECTORS have praised the achievements of pupils at a Lichfield school.
Ofsted visited St Joseph’s RC Primary School in March – and have now graded it as strong in all seven areas.
The inspection team praised the school’s ethos and high expectations to help pupils create “highly respectful relationships” where they “achieve very well across year groups and subjects”.
Headteacher Dee McLeary said:
“We are delighted that the inspectors highlighted how we support pupils to become confident individuals who succeed academically and develop emotional strength.”
Students were also praised for their focus and attitude to learning an “ambitious curriculum” and ensuring that pastoral care was “a real strength of the school”.
They added:
“Leaders have built a a culture where every pupil is included in all aspects of school life.
“A knowledge-rich and ambitious curriculum is carefully sequenced so that pupils learn new content in sensible steps.
“St Joseph’s is a happy and harmonious community.”
St Joseph’s RC Primary School’s chair of governors Tina Rowe said:
“It is pleasing that the inspectors recognised the strength of the standard of education that the pupils receive at St Joseph’s.”
