Lichfield’s Gary Mason says it’s business as usual despite being within touching distance of a British Superbikes top six showdown spot.
The MSS Colchester Kawasaki rider has put himself firmly in contention for a place among the elite half-a-dozen as the championship heads to a crucial round at Cadwell Park.
Under the rules of the series, the top six riders will be promoted to a three round finale.
And with 75 points up for grabs, Mason is aiming to bridge the 20 point gap to the elite group.
The Lichfield rider explained:
“I’ve had a mega few weeks since Brands. I took a trip up to sunny Scotland to visit Stuart, who is doing really well, and while up in Hawick we went to visit our old team mate Steve Hislop’s memorial museum. I had never been there before and it was great to pay my respects to an old friend.
“Other than that it has been business as usual, doing my training every day, getting my fitness and mind ready for Cadwell. It’s a big round for me as we’ve still got a chance to get in the top six.
“I love the track and can’t wait for the Bank Holiday weekend to begin”
