Members of Lichfield Tae Kwon Do Club have been raising money for charity.

A competition at King Edward VI Leisure Centreraised £545 for Cardiac Risk in the Young.

The event was held in memory of Michael Patterson, a promising young club member, who died a few years ago.

Members competed in patterns and sparring against others of a similar ability and physical size. Finally, all members took part in a large, closely fought ‘tag’ competition where The Avengers team won after a final tie-break.

Richard Buttery, team coach, said: “This annual competition helps make sure that we do not forget Michael.”
