Lichfield City FC took the bragging rights in a 3-0 Staffordshire Senior Cup win over Chasetown FC.
Two goals from Jack Edwards and one from Max Black were enough to secure the victory for Ivor Green’s men.
A bumper crowd at the Trade Tyre Community Stadium saw little in the way of early chances, with a Luke Childs volley the closest the home side came while Lewis Riley-Steward sent a header at James Beeson at the other end.
The first goal was always going to be crucial and it went to Lichfield as Jack Edwards’ deflected strike looped past Adam Jenkins.
Black saw a shot well saved as City looked to add a second, while Jack Langston struck the crossbar with a shot.
Chasetown were reduced to ten men just before the break as Joey Butlin saw red after for an elbow.
Lichfield doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half when Edwards rounded Jenkins to score.
Edwards almost bagged his hat-trick after intercepting a loose pass and firing just over.
Nehemia Zazi went close to reducing the deficit for Chasetown with a shot into the side netting.
But with 20 minutes to go Lichfield killed off any hopes The Scholars had of a comeback when Black headed home an Edwards free kick.
