A man has been charged with theft and drug offences after police found £700 worth of stolen goods in Lichfield.

A MAN has been charged with theft and drug offences after police found £700 worth of stolen goods in Lichfield.

Waleed Basharat, 26, of Birmingham, has been charged with theft from a shop and possession of a controlled drug of class B (cannabis).

It comes after police responded to reports of a theft at Boots on Bakers Lane at about 3pm on 20th December.

Basharat has been bailed ahead of his appearance at Cannock Magistrates’ Court on 16th January.
