The sooner Lichfield City FC forget this game the better.
After starting their campaign against some strong sides in the league we were expecting better against the team bottom of the league with no wins to date.
Lichfield started brightly with a few half chances but again could not put them away. It seemed a goal was just around the corner and it was – but against the run of play it was scored by Northfield.
There should have been no real panic as Lichfield were still on top but that was turned on its head when Danny Worrall was sent off for deliberately kicking an opponent.
At the start of the second half it seemed like City had got a reprieve when they earned a penalty which was tucked home by Dexter Ravenhill.
But as they went in search of a winner, Lichfield were caught with a sucker punch as Northfield scored when a ball came in from the right and was hit first time by their centre forward.
A bad day for Lichfield was compounded a few minutes from the end when Ravenhill was sent off for a stamp on an opponent.
