The first league game of the season turned out to be more like a friendly as the match was played in a sociable atmosphere with Chasetown dominating long periods of the fixture.
Newly promoted Silverdale put in a good performance but lacked the experience and ability to get the better of the Scholars.
Too many chances went begging before eventually Chasetown took the lead in the 40th minute. A loose ball was collected by Lyndsey Turner in central midfield, she took on a couple of Silverdale players and created a shooting chance from the edge of the box. The ball was blocked but fell loose to Jodie Kinsey, who unselfishly rolled it back to Turner who stroked the ball into the corner of the net.
A tactical change at half-time saw the introduction of Dani Wright and she created the second goal with a fine ball swept out wide to Jodie Kinsey, who rounded the full-back and pulled the ball back for Carly Edwards to finish the move with a simple goal.
Wright was again instrumental in the third as she slotted the ball through for Jade Arber to round the keeper and tuck the ball home.
