Staffordshire County Council have been gathering comments from well-wishers before putting them in a book to send to the couple.

The messages of congratulation will be sent by Councillor Erica Bayliss, chairman of the county council, on behalf of the region.

Cllr Bayliss said:

“I was delighted to have received so many nice remarks from the people of Staffordshire and not just from those who still live in our County. With the wonder of the internet, we also reached out to Staffordshire natives across the globe and I received messages from as far afield as America, Hawaii and Pakistan. A number of young children also responded and their messages were particularly touching.

“I am sure our Royal Wedding Book of Congratulations will therefore make a wonderful contribution to what is sure to be a very special day.”
