It looks like the battle between Michael Fabricant and the Department for Transport over the state of rail facilities and services at Lichfield Trent Valley is rumbling on.
Last week we told you how the Lichfield MP was unimpressed with a response he got from the Minister at the Department of Transport Phil Clark MP over the lack of disabled access at Trent Valley.
Now it seems that poor services have given Mr Fabricant food for thought. Late running services and cancellations on London Midland’s Tamworth service and points south to Euston on Sunday left him stranded and forced to drive to the capital instead.
As a result, Mr Fabricant has tabled two Parliamentary Questions to the Minister for Transport:
What assessment he has made of the reliability of service of the London Midland train operator on the Crewe-Euston route on (a) weekdays and (b) Sundays; if he has any plans to improve it.If he will meet with the Chairman of the Office of the Rail Regulator to discuss the reliability of service on the Crewe-Euston route as provided by London Midland; and if he will make a statement.
