LICHFIELD'S MP has praised a business which is looking to bring more manufacturing jobs to Burntwood.

Dave Robertson visited Mega Fortris' offices in the town to see how a £9.5million investment was aiming to transform its UK operations from a sales office to a fully operational manufacturing and distribution hub.

The company says it hopes the move will strengthen its ability to supply security seals and load-securing products across the UK and Europe.

The Labour MP said:

"It was brilliant to visit the new Mega Fortris UK offices and hear more about their future business plans, including bringing more manufacturing jobs to Burntwood.

"It shows our area’s reputation as a place where businesses can invest with confidence and create long‑term opportunities for local people."

The changes are expected to bring around 65 new jobs to the area.

Keith Edgar, managing director of Mega Fortris UK, said:

"We were delighted to welcome Dave Robertson MP to our new Burntwood facility and share our plans for the future.

"This investment reflects our confidence in both the UK market and the local area.

"As we transform our operation into a major manufacturing and distribution hub, we are creating skilled jobs, expanding our capabilities, and strengthening our ability to serve customers across the UK and Europe.

"We appreciate the opportunity to showcase our vision and demonstrate the positive impact this investment will bring to the region."
