New bin lorries are coming to the streets of Lichfield and Burntwood.
A deal to introduce 22 new vehicles has been struck following the decision by Lichfield District Council and Tamworth Borough Council to combine waste services.
The agreement with Specialist Fleet Services Ltd will see a six-year contract hire begin in February.
Councillor Iain Eadie, Cabinet member for waste management at Lichfield District Council, said: “The deal offered the best value in terms of quality and price.
“We are delighted to be working with a new partner and we hope to further improve our efficiency and service to the public.”
