Frank McLeod saw his Lichfield City FC charges pick up a hard-earned 1-0 Boxing Day win at Nuneaton Griff.

The former assistant to Dave Langston, who left his post over the weekend, saw a goal by Daniel Griffiths prove the difference between both sides.

But there plenty of other positives for City too, with academy keeper Josh Fellows keeping a clean sheet on his debut, while fellow youngster Jordan Lewis again looked lively off the bench.

McLeod took the reigns after Langston called time on his spell in charge after 18 months in the hottest.

A Lichfield City statement said: “Unfortunately work commitments have increased considerably for Dave recently, but the club would like to put on record their thanks for all of his efforts and wish him all the very best for the future.

“The current managerial team of Frank Mcleod and Karl Mcleod will continue to take control of the team and will be assisted by skipper Dan Mcleod going forward.”
