Overnight closures to begin on the A5 in Lichfield as part of major resurfacing project

STRETCHES of the A5 in Lichfield will close overnight as part of a major resurfacing project.

The carriageway maintenance will take place between Muckley Corner and Dordon between tomorrow (11th April) and 8th May.

The carriageway and slip roads will be shut from 9pm to 6am in phases.

A spokesperson for National Highways said:

“We’re resurfacing the A5 between Muckley Corner and Dordon to give you a safer, smoother drive.

“Every effort will be made to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum.”

The overnight closures will be on:

  • 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th April – A5 westbound, M42 junction 10 to Marlborough Way roundabout.
  • 13th to 17th April – A5 both directions, Wall Island to Weeford Interchange.
  • 14th, 15th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 24th April – Pennine Way eastbound exit and entry slip roads.
  • 16th, 17th, 27th, 28th April – Marlborough Way westbound exit slip road.
  • 20th April – Mile Oak westbound exit slip road onto Sutton Road.
  • 21st to 27th April (weeknights) – Ventura Park westbound and eastbound exit slip roads.
  • 28th April to 5th May (weeknights) – A5 eastbound, Muckley Corner to Wall Island.
  • 6th to 8th May – A5 westbound, Pennine Way to Marlborough Way.
