THERE will be a packed weekend of action ahead for players at Lichfield Rugby Club.
Things get underway at 7.15pm this evening (2nd October) with a charity match at Cooke Fields to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease.
Then tomorrow, the men's first team play their first home league match of the season when they welcome the recently relegated Oxford Harlequins for a 3pm kick-off.
The visitors showed their intent last weekend by beating Burton 42–14 and Lichfield will be searching for an improved and more consistent effort from their squad.
The 2nd XV, now known as the Lions, visit Old Wheatleyans in Coventry for their second round league game with one victory already notched up.
On Sunday, 15 of the club’s other sides are in action – with travel to Yorkshire, Coventry, Stafford and Burton on the cards for roughly half of these squads.
The women’s 1st XV are away to Driffield having been narrowly beaten by the title favourites Cheltenham last time out. Meanwhile, the 2nd XV are at home to Derby.
Other home action will see the Colts in cup action against Earlsdon.
