LOCAL parents are finding out which primary school places their children have been allocated.
Staffordshire County Council said nearly 95% of youngsters will be starting at their first choice in September, while more than 99% will get one of their top three selections.
A total of 8,517 places have been allocated by the authority, with parents being informed from today (16th April).
Cllr Janet Higgins, Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for education, said:
“Finding out your child’s primary school place is a big moment for any family – and we want parents to have that information promptly.
“I’m pleased that we’ve been able to offer almost all families one of their preferred schools again this year, with the great majority receiving their first choice.
“That’s thanks to the hard work of our admissions team, and to parents who submitted their preferences by the deadline.”
