A campaign to get a million people out and about cleaning up their communities is being backed by Lichfield District Council.
The Clean for The Queen initiative aims to give the country a tidy-up ahead of the royal 90th birthday celebrations in April.
Councillor Andy Smith, Cabinet member for leisure and parks at Lichfield District Council, said: “We’re pleased to be involved in this national campaign and hope plenty of people will volunteer to help make our area look its very best for royalty.”
Beacon Park in Lichfield and The Depot in Burntwood have packs of special edition litter bag packs to give to anyone organising a clean-up events. To claim one, register your event online.
The council can also arrange to collect the bags of rubbish following the litter pick.
Two clean-up events have already been registered locally by Lichfield City Council on March 5 from 10am to 12noon in areas including Eastern Avenue and Tamworth Road.
