Coronation Street and Phoenix Nights actress Barbara Nice is bringing her stand-up show to Lichfield.

She will be performing on the bill at the latest Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’s burlesque night at the George Hotel on May 26.

Having recently supported both Johnny Vegas and Peter Kay, Barbara is now a circuit headline act in her own right – although she may be more familiar to audiences from her appearances as Holy Mary in Phoenix Nights and as Dolly Gartside in Coronation Street, playing Peter Kay’s mother.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’s host Stage Door Johnny said: “We’re so excited to have Barbara Nice at our event and can’t wait for our audiences to see her.

“We’ve been lucky enough to see her perform at another cabaret event. We could hardly control our laughter during Barbara’s set and we just knew we had to have her perform at our night.

“Her re-enactment of Moulin Rouge using shoes has to be seen to be believed.”

The Olympic-themed burlesque night – titled Chariots of Fire – is on May 26 and will also feature performances from Fanny Divine, Scarlett Daggers and Sherry Trifle. Tickets are priced at £15 and are available by calling 01543 412121.
