PLANS to install modular buildings to extend changing facilities at a local football club have been given the green light.
The proposals have been submitted by Chasetown for the club's home at The Scholars Ground.
The work will see three prefabricated structures installed to create accessible changing spaces.
A planning statement said:
"Since the installation of the Football Foundation-funded 3G pitch, participation at The Scholars Ground has grown substantially.
"Chasetown FC now supports more than 90 teams and delivers activity for over 1,400 participants each week, alongside wider community use, tournaments, cup finals, disability football, women's and girls' football, veterans' football and walking football.
"The site has become one of the most heavily used community sports venues within the district. While the playing facilities have developed significantly, the supporting infrastructure has not kept pace.
"The club currently operates with a single set of changing rooms, which creates increasing operational pressures and, most importantly, safeguarding concerns when multiple age groups, genders and user groups are active on site simultaneously.
"The provision of additional changing facilities is therefore not simply a desirable enhancement but an essential requirement to ensure the site can continue operating safely, inclusively and effectively."
