PLANS to knock down a building in Chorley and replace it with a five-bedroom home have been approved.

The development has been proposed for the plot at Green Farm on Lower Lane.

It would see the demolition of a Dutch barn to make way for the detached property.

A planning statement said:

"The development will be located within the existing footprint of the Dutch barn, which is of a derelict state and visually detrimental.

"The proposal will be detached and two-stories in height with pitched roof, being constructed of materials which will integrate well with the rural setting and be of similar appearance to the materials used in the construction of properties within the locale."
