LICHFIELD Rugby Club is hoping to install new floodlights at its Cooke Fields base.
The Myrtle Greens have applied for planning permission to install six 15-metre-high columns.
A planning statement said:
"The land outlined for the development area is part existing natural turf pitch.
"The new six-column LED floodlighting system continues to allow the club extended use of the facility during dark evenings, but will result in a significantly less amount of light spill in the area and immediately around the pitch."
