Burntwood could get a 24-hour gym if plans for a former supermarket site are approved.

Developers hope to convert the former Tesco Express store on Cannock Road.
As well as the round-the-clock gym, they also want to create two retail units.
A statement supporting the application said residents need not be concerned about potential noise through the night: “The proposed tenants will actively manage impact of noise.
“They will avoid loud bass beats typically associated with most gyms. Rather the proposed gym will have low volume background music.
“There will also be use of control equipment that sets music to levels that do not exceed approved levels.”
The statement added that any cardio classes would end at 10pm – and said research showed that overnight usage of 24 hour gyms was relatively low.
“The proposed gym and retail units, and general uplift to a vacant building, will make a positive contribution to the locality,” the statement continued.
“The proposals will enhance the vitality and viability of this part of the community.”
Full details of the proposals can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
