POLICE are warning those riding e-scooters on an estate near Lichfield that they could face a fine if caught.
Officers say reports have been made about incidents on a field and children’s play area in the Arkall Farm area.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said:
“E-scooters are illegal to use unless they are on private land. They are classified as motor vehicles – because they are intended for use on the roads – and therefore the rules of the public highway apply to all of them.
“If you ride a privately owned e-scooter in a public place you face it being seized and disposed of, a £300 fine and six points on your driving licence.
“If you don’t have a valid provisional or full driving licence you will be fined a further £100 and three points.”
