REFORM UK has retained a seat in a Staffordshire County Council by-election.
Jonathan Pyke has been confirmed as the new councillor for the Stretton division after beating the Conservatives by just 31 votes.
The by-election had been called after the resignation of Barry Martin, who once described the role of a councillor as "so dull and boring".
The result means that of the 62 seats on the authority, Reform has 44 seats, the Conservative party has 12, the Labour party has one, the Green party has one, and there are four independent councillors.
