A REPORT says the number of bookings and revenue generated by a local community centre has exceeded expectations.
Burntwood Town Council operates Chase Terrace Community Centre after purchasing and renovating a former Methodist church.
The building has now been operational in its new guise for a year, with a report to members of the policy and resources committee saying it had "exceeded the expectations originally set out in the business plan".
Between August 2025 and July 2026, the centre has taken 644 bookings.
The report said:
"It was anticipated that Chase Terrace Community Centre would have a 25% occupancy rate for the first six months, a 40% occupancy rate for the following 12 months, and a 45% occupancy for the third year across seven days per week.
"These targets were quickly exceeded."
The report added that the financial figures had also been promising, but said the site offered greater value more broadly to the local community.
"We have exceeded expectations on income in the first year and this is a strong position to be in as Burntwood Town Council continues to build Chase Terrace Community Centre's profile and occupancy rates.
"Anecdotal feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and it is important that Chase Terrace Community Centre's value is not just measured by income and expenditure, but by the social capital it provides to Burntwood."
The report will be considered at a meeting of the committee on 21st September.
