With a drumming career that has seen him share stages and recording studios with star names, it was no surprise that Dave Tandy’s prowess proved to be a hit with the audience when his quartet performed in Lichfield.
Alongside trumpet and flugelhorn player Nick Dewhurst, bassist Nick Roberts and keyboard player Chris Eldred, Dave played a musically tight and rhythmically interesting set.
Numbers served up ranged from a delicate arrangement of Al Jarreau’s Morning, to the Cole Porter Jazz Standard I Concentrate on You and Bob Mintzer’s Run For Your Life, made famous by Yellowjackets.
Lichfield Jazz finishes 2022 with the ever popular Lichfield Jazz Big Band playing their now traditional Christmas show on 21st December at the Cathedral Hotel.
