Beacon Park rangers are inviting children to find out more about the park’s woodland.
At the sessions on October 7, youngsters will help the rangers to collect seeds, decorate plant pots with colourful leaves, and then plant the seeds they have found in them. The pots can then be taken home.
Once the seeds have grown, children can choose to plant them in their garden or bring them back to Beacon Park to benefit the park’s wildlife.
Councillor Val Richards said: “We hope lots of children will come along to these sessions to help our park rangers at Beacon Park to collect seeds and decorate plant pots. It will be a fun autumn themed event, helping young people to discover more about nature and the changing season.”
The Seed Gathering Sunday sessions are aimed at children over five years of age. It costs £2 a session, and booking is essential. They will run between 10am and noon, and 1pm to 3pm.
