A COMMUNITY venue is hosting “bigger and better” events after receiving support from We Love Lichfield.

Concerts and other activities have been boosted at St John the Baptist Church in Shenstone after funding helped to purchase specialist lightweight tables.

The 173-year-old church recently hosted a Motown night, but the St John’s Church Community Events group had been struggling to stage large events until money was provided by We Love Lichfield.

Spokesperson Carol Law said:

“The tables are such a bonus and a practical solution to making sure we can provide the right facilities for community focused events.

“We are indebted to We Love Lichfield. They have been fantastic.”

In addition to concerts, the church building is now accommodating a wider range of events, including the Shenstone Village Festival on 4th and 5th July.
