Manager Chris Whitehouse has admitted Shenstone Pathfinder’s injury crisis has left his squad “down to the bare bones”.
Pathfinder have been hampered by injury and unavailability of players so far this season and went into their game against Penncroft on Saturday with nine first-teamers unavailable.
But despite losing the game 2-1, Whitehouse paid tribute to the battling performance of his walking wounded. He said:
“I’ve never known injuries like this – we were down to the bare bones. But all the lads put in a great shift and we were a little unlucky not to get something from the game. We have three back who should be okay for next week and hopefully that will make us a little stronger.”
And Shenstone will need to be as strong as possible when they make the trip to early leaders Wellington on Saturday (September 10).
