Burntwood St Matthews’ skipper Matt Crossfield looked to have got his side well on the way to victory with an unbeaten contribution of 97 runs against Bronze.
His efforts were aided as Rupert Edmonds added 42 to the total of 168-3 after the 40 overs.
Bronze, however, reached the victory target with an over and a half to spare. Matt Turner led the successful Bronze fight back, with his total of 69 not out.
