CHASETOWN were forced to settle for a draw in a bank holiday stalemate against Stafford Rangers.
The Scholars began brightly and carved out the first chance of note when Joey Butlin’s long range effort went over the bar.
Jack Langston also sent a strike over the top as the hosts looked to find a breakthrough.
Stafford’s best chance of the opening 45 minutes came when Matt Hearsey’s shot was saved by Curtis Pond just before the interval.
Butlin forced visiting keeper Scott Moloney to tip his header over the bar five minutes into the second half.
Langston was next to try his luck for Chasetown, but Moloney was equal to his effort too.
Joe Thompson forced Pond into a save at the other end as the scoreline remained level.
Todd Ferrier had Chasetown’s final chance of note but saw his effort go wide of the target.
