Striker Reece Styche admits he’s been surprised and impressed by life at Chasetown FC.

The former Shepshed Dynamo man has been with his new team-mates for little over a week, but already believes he’s seen enough to be convinced that the club are going places.

And the 20-year-old – who has begun life at the Scholars Ground with two goals in two games – claims manager Charlie Blakemore is at the centre of that drive for success.

Styche explained:

“I’ve already seen how Charlie can get the best out of his players by saying the right things to them at the right times. He’s given me confidence in my game and I’m rewarding him with goals at the moment.

“But everything to do with Chasetown is quality. The players are a great bunch and the ground is brilliant  – everything is geared towards promotion.”
