Shoppers in Lichfield have helped to raise more than £2,000 for charity.
Macmillan Cancer Support staged a takeover day at Three Spires Shopping Centre last weekend.
Music, food and fun activities were on offer thanks to the work of volunteers.
Among those who lent their support was Ian Draper, who has been fundraising since losing his father and father-in-law to cancer.
He has carried out collections, volunteered and run the Lichfield Marathon to help raise £1,000 so far.
Ian said: “To be honest we just want to do as much as we can. Macmillan need as much support as possible and they desperately need more volunteers too.”
Another family who enjoyed the activities were the Sages from Lichfield, who were delighted to find the event on when they popped out for their usual Saturday shopping.
Stacey Sage, from Lichfield, was among the visitors. She took along her daughters, five-year-old Lexi and Lana, aged two.
“It’s a brilliant event,” she said. “We had great fun for a great cause.
“It seems to be a disease that touches just about everyone these days so it’s really important.”
As well as the fun activities and events, there were also medical professionals from Macmillan on hand to provide support and advice.
Spokesperson Claire Morden said: “We are very grateful for the donations from everybody – every penny raised will going to benefit Macmillan. It was also a good chance to tell people more about the charity’s work.”
