A talented young Lichfield cyclist has been receiving advice from another sporting superstar.
Sophie Capewell has already discussed her career with Sir Chris Hoy and has now met with four-time Olympic medallist Katherine Grainger.
The cyclist has been named as one of Britain’s brightest sporting talents after being included in the Jaguar Academy of Sport programme.
And Sophie admitted she was delighted to meet another Olympic star.
“It’s fantastic,” she said. “I’ve already met and spoken with Sir Chris Hoy and now been on the water with Katherine Grainger.
“It doesn’t get much better than that!”
The Olympic star met members of the Jaguar Academy of Sport at a talent day at Dorney Lake.
“It’s been inspiring to see so many talented youngsters,” Katherine added.
