FINAL preparations are taking place ahead of the return of a popular festive event in Lichfield.

The Lichfield Young Farmers and South Staffs Water Christmas Charity Tractor Run will take place on 20th December.

It will see around 100 vehicles lit up in festive finery for the event, which is raising money for Kids’ Village and St Giles Hospice.

Alfie Lee, club treasurer at Lichfield Young Farmers, said:

“Everyone at Lichfield Young Farmers is really pleased to be working alongside South Staffs Water and Rymans Christmas Trees to deliver our Charity Christmas Tractor Run to Lichfield for the second year.

“Last year we saw thousands of people line the streets to not only spread festive cheer but also support our charities, raising nearly £12,000 in one night.

“This year were back even bigger and better than before with more tractors, more lights and more festive cheer for Lichfield’s residents and local businesses while supporting St Giles, Kids Village and Lichfield Young Farmers.”

The 15-mile route will take the tractors around the city from 5pm to 7.15pm.

Erin Green, Catchment Scientist at South Staffs Water, said:

“We’re so happy to be a part of the Tractor Run again this year hosted alongside Lichfield Young Farmers Club.

“The event brings so much joy to the community and gives us the opportunity to support some wonderful charities. It was amazing to see how many people came together for the event last year and I’m looking forward to this year even more.”
