TWO people have been arrested after police used a stinger to stop a car in Lichfield.
The incident happened after the theft of an Audi S3 was reported near Deakin Way at 3.20am this morning (21st January).
Three people were involved, with one taking the vehicle and another driving away in a Ford Fiesta.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said:
“Local officers flooded the area and started looking for the suspects. We spotted the Fiesta driving without it’s lights on and started following it.
“It was then stung at Wall Island. The two people inside tried to run off, but were quickly caught.
“A 22-year-old man, from Birmingham, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, going equipped for theft, dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
“A 17-year-old boy, from Birmingham, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, going equipped for burglary and vehicle theft.
“Both remain in custody for questioning.”
