Volunteers have turned out to replant 100 trees at Chasewater Country Park.
The group joined Lichfield District Council’s park rangers, countryside team, and the Countryside & Parks Conservation Group to move young silver birch and oak trees from Anglesey Basin, where they were damaging rare heathland plants, and replanting them round a nearby pond.
Ellen Williams, Chasewater Country Park ranger, said: “The weather was perfect, and we had a good day in the fresh air.
“We moved all the trees, which are settling in well to their new location in the country park. I’d like to say a big thank you to all our volunteers for all their hard work.”
