An evening of music marking the centenary of the Battle of the Somme will help kick off the 2016 Lichfield Festival today (July 1).
The Manchester Camerata will perform a range of works at Lichfield Cathedral at 7.30pm.
The Battle of the Somme will also be marked by Last Post fanfares played across Lichfield hourly from 11am.
Meanwhile, the Garrick Theatre will welcome dance show Salaam by the Sonia Sabri Company at 8pm.
