The unmistakable sound of the ukulele returns to take centre stage at the Lichfield Festival.
The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain perform the first of their two-night stay at the Lichfield Garrick.
From 7.30pm they’ll be plundering the British Film Institute’s archives to perform some gems from the silent movie era for their Ukulelescope show.
Black Voices bring the sounds of Gospel to Lichfield Cathedral.
Performing alongside the Lichfield Chorus, the concert is sure to be inspiring as the sounds cross language and cultural barriers from 7.30pm.
At noon the Lady Chapel will play host to a performance of Mendelssohn’s Octet, performed by the Australian String Quartet, the Barbirolli Quartet and pianist John Reid.
And early risers will be able to enjoy a 10.30am illustrated talk about Charles Darwin and the voyage of the HMS Beagle at the Lichfield Garrick.
The free exhibitions by Angie Lewin, Alistair Tucker and Andy Lovell also continue at Lichfield Cathedral.
