The story of the first ever non-stop Transatlantic flight will be told at the Lichfield Festival today (July 5).

The Foundry Group bring Those Magnificent Men to the Garrick Studio at 8pm.

Lichfield Cathedral will welcome film critic Mark Kermode as he introduces two Charlie Chaplin films which will feature live accompaniment from the Orchestra of the Swan at 8pm.

Christopher Bragg will deliver an organ recital at St Mary’s in the Market Square from midday, while Swinfen Hall Hotel welcomes the Heath Quartet for a chamber recital at 3pm.

The day’s other event sees the Mary Bijou Cabaret take inspiration from Alfred Hitchock at the Garrick at 8pm.
