EXCLUSIVE: A man who died after being hit by a car on the A38 near Lichfield has been named locally as Richard Hall.

The 21-year-old was killed in the accident at 1.40am on Saturday morning at Alrewas.

The exact circumstances surrounding Mr Hall’s death have been released by authorities, but it is believed Mr Hall had visited a garage following a night out and was crossing over to his home on the opposite side of the carriageway.

A Facebook group was set up in his memory on Saturday. The group says:

“Rich Hall sadly passed away this morning after tragically being hit by a car on the A38 on his way home from a good night. He will be greatly missed.”

And friends and family have been paying tribute to the man described as “a gentle lad” who will “be missed by many people”.

One commenter wrote:

“I’m going to miss you loads – you were such a good lad. It doesn’t even feel like you have gone. Going to miss you loads. All my thoughts are with your family, love you loads. One day we will meet again.”

Another member of the group added:

“Rest in peace Richard, gone far too soon.”
