Chasetown FC have signed Mansfield Town striker Grant Ryan on a one month loan.

Manager Charlie Blakemore has moved quickly to replace Craig Marshall who has joined Sutton Coldfield Town.

And with Dean Perrow a long-term absentee and striker Danny Smith struggling to be fit for tomorrow’s game against Spalding United, Chasetown have brought in the 18-year-old first year pro.

With five strikers ahead of him in the Mansfield pecking order – including ex-Chasetown man Kyle Perry – manager David Holdsworth has allowed Ryan to ply his trade a the Scholars Ground in the short-term.

The Stags boss told the club’s official website:

“It is important that Grant is playing competitive football and this match will give him the opportunity to get some match minutes.”

I think Grant Ryan will do well for you. Last season he scored nearly 30 goals for our youth team, and is one for the future. Hopefully this loan spell will give him vital match practice at first-team level.
