Match action at Aldridge Airfield

Paradise Lounge exited the Jack Donnelly Cup after being thrashed 6-0 by Division 1 outfit Whitehouse.

A powerful strike opened the scoring just minutes into the second round tie as Paradise once again paid the price for being slow out of the blocks.

Whitehouse doubled their advantage from the penalty spot midway through the first-half after Paradise goalkeeper Paul Webb was punished for a reckless foul.

The Lounge made an encouraging start to the second-half but Whitehouse capitalised on a dreadful defensive display from centre-back Ben Lowe to score four more and dump their opponents out of the competition.

Despite their third consecutive defeat, Paradise player-manager Dale Harley is hopeful his side will soon return to winning ways:

“It was a heavy loss but, being a cup game, the scoreline isn’t a big issue. Unfortunately we came up against a good team who were very clinical in front of goal. We’ll forget about it and look forward to our next match.”

Paradise: Paul Webb, Mark Morris, Paul Hill, Ben Lowe, James Wilkinson, Sam Owen, Adam Worthington, Steve Spencer (Pete Burton), Jack Lowe, Ben Hartshorne (Simon Owen), James Coombes. Subs not used: Dale Harley, Stuart Gauntlett.
