As Lichfield and Burntwood voters prepare to go to the ballot box for the local elections on May 5, The Lichfield Blog has offered each of the candidates the chance to have their say. We’ve sent out questionnaires to all District Council candidates and will publish their responses on the site to help you decide where to put your cross on election day. If your local candidates haven’t responded yet, why not chase them? Name: Jo Jackson Party: Liberal Democrats Ward: Boley Park Occupation: Midwife What has made you decide to stand for election? The opportunity to help to improve our community. What are the key local issues for you in your ward? Protection of the Recreation Zones to the north and west of Lichfield and the protection of Lichfield from losing its special character through over-development. If you are elected how do you plan to keep your constituents informed of what you are doing to represent them? I will distribute regular Focus leaflets which highlights local issues and I will have regular surgeries to discuss individual concerns. How do you feel you will be able to make a difference to your constituents? If elected to the Council I will work as hard as I can for you. Anything else you would like to add? Liberal Democrats have established a record in Lichfield over the last 16 years or working hard on behalf of their constituents and keeping residents regularly updated through our Focus leaflets.
