A by-election will be held in Chadsmead after a member of Lichfield District Council resigned.
Liberal Democrat Marion Bland has stepped down due to ill-health.
She served as a councillor between 2007 and 2011 and again when she was voted in through a by-election in 2014 up until her resignation at the end of 2015.
Councillor Mike Wilcox, Conservative leader of Lichfield District Council, said: “I would like to thank Marion for her contribution, she has been an excellent ward councillor and a valued member of Lichfield District Council.
“We all hope she enjoys better health soon and wish her the best for the future.”
A by-election is likely to be held early in 2016.
