Passengers are being warned delays on the cross city line could continue until the end of tomorrow.
No services have run between Lichfield Trent Valley and Birmingham since the discovery of an unexploded World War Two bomb in Aston.
London Midland confirmed earlier that disruption was expected to continue through the evening – but now National Rail Enquiries has warned the delays could last even longer:

The 250kg bomb has also brought a number of roads in Birmingham to a standstill, meaning passengers who had opted to use the bus instead also faced delays.

Today, this made me realise, again, how isolated we are when it comes to public transport.
Got kicked off the train at Aston.
2 buses, a walk and a coach and 4 hours later. I arrive at Lichfield City.
If anything goes wrong on this train line. We have no simple way to get back to Lichfield.
