ALREWAS made it back-to-back victories as they secured a 28-run victory at Belper Meadows.
The Herons won the toss and opted to bat first – a decision that seemed positive as opener Will Smedley made 49, while Tevyn Walcvott and James Burton also made half centuries.
Alrewas eventually closed their 50 overs on 242-7, with Belper Meadows bowler Kabeer Imtiaz finishing with figures of 4-42.
The home side’s reply got off to a stuttering start as they fell to 43-4.
Knocks of 41 from Nicholas Mann and 73 by Connor Mitchell got Belper Meadows back in the game though, but they eventually fell just short as they were skittled out for 214.
Craig Swinfield was the pick of the Alrewas bowlers as he posted figures of 4-31.
