An Armitage youngster is aiming to be the next John Motson after reaching the final of a football commentary competition.

Eleven-year-old Andrew Bradley reached the final five of the competition after sending in his voiceover on a goal to Aston Villa’s website.

And now the Hayes Meadow Primary School youngster has been to Villa Park to commentate on a reserve game between Aston Villa and Birmingham City.

Andrew said:

“I was delighted to be picked out in the top five and the experience of commentating at Villa Park was unbelievable.”

The commentary from the five finalists are now online at www.visitbirmingham.com and people can vote for their favourite until noon on April 9.

The youngster added:

“I just hope I get as many votes as possible!”
