Residents are being given their chance to give Armitage with Handsacre ‘neighbourhood area’ status.
An application has been lodged with Lichfield District Council by the Parish Council.
If successful, it would allow a neighbourhood plan to be developed, giving locals a greater say on where new homes, shops and other developments should be built.
It would also allow green spaces to be protected in the area.
People can comment on the proposals online at www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/neighbourhoodplans until June 4.
